Starting out recording a garage rock 7 inch to 4 track cassette and ending up touring the world with the Oh Sees, Straight Arrows have had a wild ride!

Having spent years touring their incendiary live show around Australia and the world, the group have honed their fresh, reverb-laden, fuzzed out, psychedelic punk sound into pointed perfection. From DIY shows and warehouses to real-life prestige locations like the Sydney Opera House and Sydney’s historic Town Hall, Straight Arrows have surpassed all expectations and become the Australian band that has inspired so many to many others to start their own.

From their formation in 2007, when friends Owen Penglis and Al Grigg recorded two tracks Penglis had written to a cassette in a bedroom of a Sydney sharehouse, Straight Arrows still live by an ethos of energy, immediacy and fun above all else. Those two tracks would go on to become Straight Arrows’ debut 7” and kick start over a decade of 45s, studio records and hundreds of live shows worldwide

Praised by Maximumrocknroll, released on labels like Goodbye Boozy, HoZac, Almost Ready, Rice Is Nice, Anti Fade, R.I.P Society, SpaceCase and Agitated, and spun on good radio stations like BBC 6, WFMU, KCRW, counting Henry Rollins and Iggy Pop as fans, and scoring multiple albums of the week on stations all over Oz, Straight Arrows and their fresh, reverb-laden, fuzzed out, psychedelic punk sound have earned a worldwide cult following, leaving a trail of blown amplifiers around the globe
