About

Bec Nguyen is the Founder and Director of Upbeat Digital, a Perth-based consultancy business, specialising in digital project and product management; UX/UX design and community engagement in social impact issues using an innovative, human-centred approach. Upbeat Digital has collaborated with state and national organisations like The Wilderness Society, CSIRO and Nature Play WA, to support the translation of evidence-based resources to the wider community through digital solutions. Prior to starting her own business, Bec was employed with Telethon Kids Institute (WA), where she was the only UX Design/ Digital Health expert in a team of 35+ researchers and project managed over 12 digital health projects.

Bec has directly contributed to grant and philanthropic funding applications in digital health research with a funding total of over $3.7 million and has contributed to publications in the digital health space.

Outside of work, Bec enjoys giving back to the community. She was a member of the WA New Museum Project’s consumer advisory group from 2015 to 2020 and has been volunteering in the call rooms for Telethon weekend since 2013. She also mentors and run workshops in UX design to encourage female students and professionals to consider career pathways in STEM.
