Bec Smith is a Partner and Manager at Anonymous Content in Los Angeles where she represents directors and writers including Anthony Chen, Garth Davis, Sebastian Junger, Ellen Kuras, Joshua Oppenheimer, Phillip Noyce, Goran Stolevski, Maria Schrader and Warwick Thornton.

A former partner at United Talent Agency, Smith spent 15 years representing world class directors and writers. She also worked in film finance and helped put together finance on close to 100 films including Foe, Lee, I Feel Pretty, Margin Call, Diary of a Teenage Girl, Brigsby Bear, In A World, The Rover, Son of a Gun, Sleeping Beauty and The Spectacular Now.

Before transitioning to representation, Smith worked in script development and as a film critic and journalist.

She was an executive producer on David Michôd’s Animal Kingdom, which won the Sundance Film Festival’s ‘Dramatic World Cinema Jury Prize; was head of development at Working Title Films in Australia; was the Australasian Bureau Chief of The Hollywood Reporter; edited Inside Film (IF) magazine; and produced the live televised IF Awards, Australia’s version of the Independent Spirit Awards.

She is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
