Duane Mutu is one of the top 20 most influential people in the video game industry, widely regarded as one of the leading esports experts in the Oceanic region. He is also the founding board of the NZESF; which is historical for becoming the worlds first federation to have government recognition for esports thus making it an official sport in New Zealand. Duane also holds a role on the Global Esports Federation’s Education, Culture and Youth Commission and the Secretary General of the Oceanic Esport Development. Duane had previously worked on the publisher side of gaming for over 10 years with heavy hitting brands like Ubisoft, EA, Warner Brothers, Disney and THQ. Duane has a deep understanding how the gaming ecosystem works and the commercial acumen which has driven much success in the space. Duane now sits on the esports side of the gaming fence having founded leading esports media company LetsPlay.Live (LPL) which was formerly invested by SkyCity Entertainment Group and an ASX-listed business. As of 2021, LPL is now a privately owned and independent business. LPL is a market leader in the esport sector. Duane was once an original influencer having his own television video game show.
