Felicity Coonan is an art director working in feature film, across the expanse of the life of a project from early story development to world and character building, production design, through to publishing and marketing.

Recently she was Supervising Art Director on the Netflix animated feature The Magician's Elephant (2023) and previously art directed The LEGO Ninjago Movie, at Animal Logic’s Sydney studio. Other film projects include Peter Rabbit, The LEGO Movie, Avengers - Age of Ultron, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, Happy Feet and Happy Feet 2.

Apart from designing characters, environments, languages, and title sequences for films, she creates books, exhibitions, and short films. A recent book project she collaborated on ‘Little Soldier Stories’ has won multiple awards, including Gold at the prestigious French Prix Sorcieres ‘Carrement Beau Maxi’ for the most beautiful children’s book in 2019 for children aged 9 and up.

Felicity has worked creatively in the visual effects and animated film industry since its inception in Australia and Europe and was a founding member of Animal Logic.

In her spare time she is politically active with a passion for leaving a better planet behind for her kids, and curates a group show with artist friends as ‘Beastly Collective‘.
