About

Gil Rind is a biomedical engineer with experience in active implantable medical devices for neurological conditions. This includes the design and testing of Synchron’s flagship Motor Neuroprosthetic system as it transformed from a concept sketch to an IDE approved device on its way towards becoming the first FDA approved commercial implantable brain computer interface. He is the Senior Director of Advanced Technologies for Synchron where he manages the investigation of core technologies relating to neurointerventional electrophysiology and neuromodulation and development of novel improvements to Synchron’s devices.
Gil has co-authored 32 scientific papers and conference proceedings and is listed as an inventor on 4 patents or current patent applications. He has research experience in brain computer interfaces, epilepsy, and autism for benchtop, preclinical, and early phase clinical experiments, where he has managed over $20M of research and private funding. He is passionate about creating new technologies that are safe, effective, and life changing.
