Jini Maxwell is a curator and an award-winning videogame journalist. They work at ACMI, Australia’s museum of screen culture, where they recently curated Out of Bounds: Exploring The Limits of Videogames. They work as lead curator on ACMI’s centrepiece exhibition, the Story of the Moving Image, work on games exhibitions in the gallery, and commission work for ACMI’s digital gallery. In addition to working on exhibitions, Jini co-organises ACMI X WIP night, a monthly meetup for screen creatives to showcase their works-in-progress.
In 2020 they were part of the founding team for Gameshub, an Australian games journalism outlet, and continue to contribute a regular games criticism column for The Saturday Paper. In 2021 they were awarded Best Gaming Journalist at the Australian IT Journalism Awards.
