Joel is the Creative Director at Blackbird, Australia's leading VC firm. He is also the Head of the Blackbird Foundation, whose mission is to unleash creativity in young people. Previously he was Blackbird's Head of Community where his work centred around turning Blackbird into a magnetic force for the best people.

Before Blackbird, Joel was the cofounder of artist management company, Umbrella. He managed The Rubens, Cloud Control and Urthboy. Joel was also the founder and Festival Director of Sydney Craft Beer Week. His interests centre around culture, creativity and community.
