Joel joined Blackbird as the Head of Community in 2016. He became Creative Director in 2020 and founded the Blackbird Foundation in that same year. Before Blackbird, Joel founded an Artist Management agency representing Australian bands, including The Rubens and Cloud Control. Joel founded and was Festival Director of Sydney Craft Beer Week. Joel holds an arts degree in Theatre/Media and worked at KFC as a teenager.
