About

Jonathan Wilson is a specialist in contemporary music, community engagement and visual arts programming and is curator of music and community at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. An ARIA and APRA screen nominated musician, he co-composed the score for the TV series Safe Harbour, which won an international Emmy in 2018. From 2003 to 2011 he was the Director of Speak n Spell records, an independent Australia record label, touring and management company. This year, at the Art Gallery, Wilson was the curator of Volume festival of sound and vision headlined by Solange, which featured the largest music program presented by the institution in its 152-year history. Also at the Art Gallery, Wilson was co-curator Sol LeWitt: Affinities and Resonances (2022) and the Sonya Holowell commission chamberconveyor (2022). In 2019, he produced the Sydney Festival event Masters of Modern Sound alongside Force Majeure.
