Kathy McLeish is a director of Women in Media Australia and an award-winning ABC journalist and producer.

She has reported and produced for programs across the network including 7.30 Qld, Stateline, 7.30, Landline, Australian Story and TV and radio news and current affairs. She has executive produced Stateline and 7.30 Qld and is currently the Acting Supervising Producer of ABC's top-rating TV program 'Back Roads'.

Kathy was named Queensland Journalist of the Year for an investigative series which triggered a Commission of Inquiry and a $60 million overhaul of youth mental health services in Queensland. She's covered stories ranging from the immigration centre riots in Nauru, the handover of the Mentoring Task Force in Afghanistan and the Syndey to Hobart Yacht Race.

She's the immediate past Co-Chair of Women in Media Australia and was the founding convenor of Women in Media, Queensland. She's jointly led the establishment of the organisation as an independent company and built a national network with chapters in every state and territory with more than 6000 members nationally. The organisation runs a host of exciting projects including the prestigious national Women in Media Conference, the Jill Singer Memorial Speech, addresses at the National Press Club, the Career Boost scholarship and the national mentoring program.

She has degrees in journalism and psychology.
