Kellie Payne is an Architect and a Director of Bates Smart, one of the largest integrated architectural and interior design practices in Australia. Her experience in unique within the industry encompassing both the design of new commercial office buildings and the workplaces within. She also leads the strategy and research team with Bates Smart that focuses on the Future of Work. Their papers include a series on The Legal Workplace, How to Master Hybrid Working, and the Future of Tenant Driven Building Design. Her insight is highly valued both by developers and tenants. From strategic briefing and concept design through to practical completion, Kellie played a lead role on numerous high profile projects both in Australia and overseas. As a design Architect she brings creative solutions to strategic thinking. Her expertise is instrumental to the design of office buildings, innovative workplaces and world class learning environments. As leader of the Bates Smart Workplace Strategy team her experience has led to the creation of some of the most innovative workplaces in Australia, driving strategic and cultural change for businesses. In addition, she regularly consults, designs and delivers tertiary education spaces, including Sydney’s first vertical campus.
