KJ (Kristie Jane) Tainton is the founder of Small Fry Rock, a series of gigs set up in Sydney and Brisbane that are inclusive live music events for grown ups and kids. KJ explains how necessity was the mother of invention – with years of experience in the music industry in PR and booking prior to parenthood, once she had her own little ones she found there wasn’t much other than The Wiggles or ‘just kids music’ for fans, and musicians, who wanted to be able to experience live music in family friendly ways. Small Fry Rock is now a runaway success, regularly selling out and featuring some of the country’s best musicians including Paul Dempsey, Tim Rogers, Sarah McCloud, The Clouds, Adalita and Ben Lee.
