My name is Lara Vokai. I am 32 years old and of Australian and Fijian heritage. I own and manage my family's resort in Fiji called Nukubati Resort, and I am one of the custodians of The Great Sea Reef, the world's third largest barrier reef system where Nukubati is situated at. I am also one of the directors for the Duavata Sustainable Tourism Collective in Fiji, a collective of like-minded tourism operators who believe tourism should enhance cultural heritage and the environment. I have been educated in both Australia and Fiji but finished my high school and tertiary education in Fiji. I am very passionate about nature, specifically native coastal rainforest ecosystems as well as traditional Fijian knowledge and holistic healing. When I’m not in the office, you can find me in my vegetable garden or out on the sea taking photographs of unique coral fauna.
