Distinguished Professor Peter McNeil FAHA is an award-winning design historian internationally known for his work on the visual culture of fashion. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and was Section Head for 'The Arts'; + Past President, AAANZ. He is Co-Editor with Dr Valerie Steele of Fashion Theory. McNeil works with cultural organisations at many scales, from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Reigning Men) to Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (The Unflinching Gaze). Most recently he was written histories of creativity in Paddington and Darlinghurst (Sydney). McNeil was awarded a UTS Human Rights Award for his work with LGBTQI+ communities.
