Queenie is a postgraduate student at The University of Sydney pursuing research in stem cell technologies. After completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering in 2020, Queenie has continued to apply bioengineering systems to develop reproducible and scalable products for the clinical translation of lab grown stem cell-derived tissues. Currently, Queenie’s project focusses on generating consistent retinal tissues for a high-quality source of functional cells. In collaboration with the Children’s Medical Research Institute at Westmead, Queenie’s research aims to address important challenges which currently limit the clinical application of stem cell-derived retinal therapeutics.
