Steel Hanf is Managing Director of Proxy Agency, an Australian-based talent agency that specialises in artists’ live touring strategies throughout Asia Pacific. Proxy was birthed in the height of COVID in late 2020, and has since quadrupled in size while booking thousands of gigs across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Steel is the agent for artists such as Hayden James, SG Lewis, Cosmo’s Midnight, What So Not, X CLUB., Lastlings, Partiboi69, Nina Las Vegas, Mansionair, jamesjamesjames, Lithe, Memphis LK, among others. Steel was awarded the feature of IQ Mag’s ‘New Bosses of 2022,’ was named in The Music Network’s ‘30 Under 30 Awards’ two years in a row, and is also a core member of Untitled Group’s leadership team, Australia’s largest independent music & events company. A long way from his birthplace of New Jersey, Steel was previously an agent with WME for 5 years across their Los Angeles and Sydney offices. Since 2020, Steel has participated in Diversity Arts Australia’s equity and inclusion program called Fair Play, which is a crash-course on diversity, safe & inclusive workplaces, and representation throughout the music industry.
