Stephanie Wan

Strategic Partnerships Advisor for the Deep Space Food Challenge | Methuselah Foundation

Stephanie Wan

Stephanie is passionate about communicating how space technologies and applications benefit other sectors, and loves coming up with creative ways to share her excitement on the interdisciplinary benefits of space with the public. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with U.S. and international government agencies to connect people and developing/managing special projects that have resulted in new programs, projects, and long-lasting relationships.

Armed with an international relations and a science and technology/space policy degree, she started her career at NASA HQ, where she integrated their student and young professional programming activities with workforce development and succession planning to develop a long-term STEM professional pipeline. Through other roles at the US State Department and Department of Commerce, she also worked on interagency and international coordination, including with the United Nations.

She was finally able to combine her love space and her foodie lifestyle through the Methuselah Foundation to promote the NASA Deep Space Food Challenge, which is an international competition focused creating novel and game-changing food technologies or systems that require minimal inputs and maximize safe, nutritious, and palatable food outputs for long-duration space missions, and which have potential to benefit people on Earth.
