About

Suzanne Soo Hyun Kim is a Korean-Australian director, producer and writer based in both Sydney and Seoul.

Suzanne’s work holds a primary focus on experimental narrative and delves deep into the heart of the imagination, creating lyrical meditations on life. Her work spans narrative film and commercial work and often contemplates her experience of the Korean diaspora, womanhood, and social impact filmmaking.

Recently she has been featured in Vogue as part of ‘The new class of Australian Female Directors to know’. Commercially, Suzanne has worked with brands such as Apple, The Guardian, Jordan, The Sydney Opera House and Nike.

Suzanne is a writer and director on Night Bloomers which was commissioned by SBS and Screen Australia as part of the SBS Digital Originals initiative 2022. The show will premiere on SBS on Demand in 2023.

Suzanne will be undertaking a Vic Screen supported and Screen Australia Funded Director’s Attachment on an ABC television series in 2023, is in development of an online series and preparing her first photography exhibition ‘Let the Neon Lights Dance’ to exhibit in early 2024. Suzanne will produce and direct a short film of the same name with filming to commence in Seoul in late 2023.
