Viveka Weiley is an inventor and creativity researcher who has been messing around with virtual worlds since about ‘97, from the first 1cm resolution Web virtual earth to an iAward-winning Augmented Reality Free Range Egg Detector that charted on the iPhone App Store, shifted the market and helped change government policy. He is a SIGGRAPH Pioneer and was a member of the storied Global Multimedia Protocol Group, co-chairs the Demos program for Creativity and Cognition 2023 and 2024 and is a member of the industry advisory panel for the UTS School of Software..

Viveka publishes and speaks internationally on the design of supportive environments for visionary and collaborative creativity in real and virtual place. He has been Head of New Things at CHOICE, Creative Director of R&D at the ABC and a researcher at the UTS Creativity and Cognition Studios. Today he designs meta-science systems at CSIRO, Australia’s national science and technology research agency.
