About

Zinab Al Hilaly is an inclusive best-practice consultant, lived experience co-designer, and community health advocate, passionate about advocating for the human rights of all people in particular those of marginalized and intersectional backgrounds.

Over the last few years, Zinab led the Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network of WA, using her role to empower multicultural young people in advocacy, policy, and youth leadership. In 2020, Zinab was the co-founder of the Christmas Island Youth Leadership Project, where she designed a first of its kind conference for young people from culturally and linguistically diverse and marginalized backgrounds.

Zinab is extremely passionate about national and global public health and holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology and Population Health.

Zinab is nationally recognized for her expertise in providing diverse perspectives, engaging refugee and migrant young leaders in consultations and projects for a variety of organizations including Consumer of Health Forum and Headspace National.

Zinab was one of the co-designers for the Metaverse Youth Safety, the world first ever safety strategy to help inform young people using technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in a partnership between Meta and PROJECT ROCKIT, a youth-driven movement in Australia dedicated to combatting cyberbullying and helping young people stay safe online.

Currently, Zinab is working on creating digital platforms including investigating the use of AI to connect and support multicultural and Muslim young people in Australia to assist with their mental health in a culturally safe manner.
