GLOBAL VOICES JOIN NEXT GEN AI PROGRAMMING AT SXSW SYDNEY® 2024

Discover the expansion of AI across all industries and the coming wave at SXSW Sydney!

In exciting news, coinciding with Australia’s AI Month (October 14–November 15, 2024), the National AI Centre’s (NAIC) will have a booth at the Tech & Innovation Expo. Here they will offer cutting-edge solutions from the Australian AI ecosystem, with opportunities to learn about how the Australian Government’s AI Adopt Centres can increase the capability of small- or medium-sized business through AI. Attendees can engage in digital experiences to better understand the government's recently announced Voluntary AI Safety Standard and proposed Mandatory Guardrails, while exploring the rich selection of Australian AI solutions and services.

Another sign of the nation’s interest and investment in AI and innovation, Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic, will attend SXSW Sydney. While on site, he will visit the Australian Government’s AI Adopt Centres and the Expo.

All things Expo and AI hacks

Elsewhere on the Expo floor you’ll be able to hear from leading AI experts on the Discovery Stage, hosting discussions such as Accelerating AI in Australia: How We Seize the AI Opportunity’, and ‘AI and Creativity’.

SXSW Sydney will also host a 3-part AI Hackathon, run by Build Club in collaboration with the NAIC. The SXSW Sydney AI Hackathon will feature leading local and global AI talent, a First Nations advisor and a range of technical and domain expertise, with the winner announced on the Discovery Stage on Saturday 19 October.

Today we are excited to unveil new global speakers Teresa Tung (Global Data Capability Lead at Accenture), Adam Burden (Global Innovation Lead at Accenture), and Manohar Paluri (Vice President, AI at Meta). Joining previously announced thought leaders including Armand Ruiz, Nicholas Renotte, Brian David Johnson, Martin D. Adams, Clare Bycroft, and many more.

These fresh voices will bring a global perspective to the current state of AI across business, responsible ethical AI practices, futurecasting, sustainability, and more at the SXSW Sydney Conference.
