SXSW SYDNEY® 2025 NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS

Sydney, Australia – Thursday, 30 January 2025
– South by Southwest Sydney® (SXSW Sydney) is delighted to announce that submissions are officially open for its third annual Event. From October 13 to 19, 2025, Sydney will once again come alive with an extraordinary fusion of creativity, innovation and discovery, with the festival taking place around Darling Harbour, Chippendale, and Broadway.

Building on last year’s success, SXSW Sydney 2024 featured 1,600 sessions and events, including 400+ conference sessions, 150+ professional development sessions, 300+ music performances, 95 film screenings, 150 games, more than 400 brand-led events,  while attracting over 300,000 attendees from 56 countries.  SXSW Sydney 2025 promises to elevate the experience further for creators and audiences alike, with submissions now open across the entire event. 

Creatives have the opportunity to apply to be part of the SXSW Sydney Conference to share ground-breaking ideas across 23 diverse tracks. This includes everything from Tech & Innovation, Business & Leadership, Marketing & Media, Culture & Lifestyle, Sustainability & The Future, and Creative Industries. Aspiring speakers should submit session proposals through Session Select, a platform that enables a comprehensive review by Public Vote, industry advisors, expert evaluators and the SXSW Sydney team. Submissions close March 23rd 2025, with Public Voting opening in March and applicants being notified by the end of June. Expressions of interest are now also welcomed from those wishing to offer their time as a SXSW Sydney Conference Evaluator. 

Furthermore, SXSW Sydney 2025’s Screen, Music, and Games Festivals will also be accepting submissions. Creators are encouraged to submit innovative and genre-defying works, including feature films, shorts, games, musical projects as a soloist or band, music videos, episodic content, and projects utilising virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR).

  • Conference Submissions close: 23 March 2025
  • Music Submissions close: 6 April 2025
  • Screen Submissions close: 1 May 2025
  • Games Submissions close: 30 June 2025

This is a unique opportunity for creators to showcase their work to thousands of industry leaders, media representatives, investors, and fans from across the Asia-Pacific region, alongside global experts and celebrated artists and creatives.
