Accessibility Statement

At SXSW Sydney, we strive to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all participants, regardless of age or ability.

We recognise the importance of accessibility and are committed to providing accommodations and support to ensure that all attendees and talent have equal access to the event and can fully participate in the experience.

Below is a list of the accessibility options available across SXSW Sydney this year:

Companion Card Program
Badge holders who carry a Companion card are eligible for 1 x complimentary Companion badge to mirror the original badge the companion card holder has purchased or is purchasing.
You can book Accessible Credentials here.

Designated Accessible Seating
There will be designated accessible seating for sessions and film screenings. All designated SXSW Sydney accessible seating is based on capacity and provided on a first come, first served basis.

AUSLAN Interpreters and Live and/or Closed Captions
SXSW Sydney will indicate all accessibility information available for every session to allow you to plan your attendance in advance.

Live and/or Closed captioning will be available in all Keynotes, featured speaker rooms and selected film screenings and gaming events.

Sensory Rooms
To create a calm and soothing space for those individuals who may become overwhelmed or overstimulated in a festival environment, sensory rooms will be available within the SXSW Sydney precinct. Locations of the sensory rooms will be published closer to the event.

Accessibility At Venues
A list of all SXSW Sydney venues and their individual accessibility features will be coming soon. This will allow you to pre plan before coming to the venues. You can find venue information online, through the SXSW Sydney app and at the Accessibility Information Desk.

Accessible Transportation
SXSW Sydney takes place over a large walkable footprint of Central Sydney.
For those who do not wish to walk, SXSW Sydney will be providing free accessible shuttle buses that are scheduled to pick up roughly every 15-20 mins.

Accessible Parking
Parking will be very limited around the precinct, if you have a disabled parking permit you can park in designated disabled parking spots or pay in private parking stations for a fee.

Accessibility Information Desk
A designated Accessibility information desk will be available at the event. This is to help read information to those requesting accommodations and communicate all the accessible options available at the event and how to utilise them.

Access Liaison
SXSW Sydney will have our own Accessibility Liaison that can assist with any accessibility enquiries that you have in the lead up and throughout SXSW Sydney. The liaison is contactable via accessibility@sxswsydney.com. Alternatively, the EOI form can be completed with details of access enquiries, and the liaison will contact you.

More information will be provided closer to the event date.
