NEW NAMES JUST ADDED TO SXSW SYDNEY® MUSIC FESTIVAL

August 22, 2024

Last year, SXSW Sydney music showcases saw the city come alive as iconic venues and live entertainment institutions played host to a diverse array of emerging artists from around the world — cementing its place as the ultimate hub for music discovery and connection.

Today we are thrilled to unveil the latest additions to the lineup and offer an overview of the range of artists and experiences that will define this year’s event, with over 25 fresh acts joining the already buzz roster.

Joining a stellar lineup of previously announced emerging stars and international sensations like Jorja Smith, Ayesha Madon, Voice of Baceprot and Nick Ward, are enigmatic electronic Sydney duo 2touch (making their live debut at this year’s SXSW Sydney), Mick Jenkins collaborator Heno. (USA), Anthony Fantano co-signed dogworld (VIC), Indie rock group GIMMY (NSW), reggae masters Kurilpa Reach (QLD) and recently-minted platinum party master Touch Sensitive (LA via NSW).

SXSW Sydney will also be flaunting the best of the APAC region, with artists like Berlin Psycho Nurses (China), KATHMANDU (Indonesia), mindfreakk (Indonesia) and YONLAPA (Thailand) all making their Australian debut.

Following the successful spotlight on APAC in 2023, SXSW Sydney expands its focus to India, one of the most exciting countries in the world right now for import, export and cultural impact. +91 Calling!, a single-day showcase of Indian creative culture will bring the energy to the Tumbalong Park Main Stage on Sunday 20 October, featuring six acts from India and the Indian diaspora with genres spanning hip-hop, pop, r&b, club and neo-classical. Speakers from the region include A.R. Rahman, the iconic film composer and artist (also appearing live at the ICC Theatre on Saturday) and Billboard Top Music Lawyer Priyanka Khimani.

SXSW Sydney Badgeholders will have the unique opportunity to gain insights from global cultural and creative leaders through a range of conference talks, panels, and meetups. Industry veterans will discuss topics such as Breaking Asia, Global Trends in Indie Marketing and Live A&R Feedback workshops. Newly announced speakers include booking legends Marty Diamond and Larry Webman (Wasserman), A&R manager Samantha Urbani (Secretly Group) and Billboard International Power Player Rebecca Berman (SVP International at Concord Recorded Music), CEO Jashima Wadehra (Ode To), agents Zach Silva (Anniversary Group), James Osgood (United Talent Agency) and Tessie Lemmle (United Talent Agency), Marihuzka Cornelius (Head of A&R Island Records), who will share their expert knowledge across a range of panels and professional development workshops.
